The Runestone Museum is a Regional History, Heritage and Natural Science Museum offering a variety of children’s activities, audio tour stops, and a large gift shop with a focus on local talent.

In addition to the world famous and controversial Kensington Rune Stone Exhibit, the museum includes displays showcasing Ojibwe and Dakota First Minnesotans, European Homesteaders, Scandinavian Immigrants, Minnesota Wild Life, World War II and 19th Century Medicine. 

Open year round, the Runestone Museum hosts community events such as History Live, Fall Fest, Christmas in the Fort and Mai Fest.
